You are at War!
Series: Who Are You?
Life is really hard sometimes. Life can be almost unbearable. Sometimes this is a result of our own actions. The consequences of bad decisions. But sometimes it seems that even when we are doing our best life is still hard. This is because we are at war. A war that is unseen. A war that Christ as made us ready for. Paul finishes his letter the the Ephesians by giving them instructions on how to be ready to fight against our enemy. Cody unpacks this and finishes The Who are You? series by walking through Eph 6:10-24.

A topic that is often hard for us to talk about is the issue of slavery. Yet the Bible addresses it often. In this section of Eph 6 Paul directly addresses slaves and masters. Daniel walks us through verses 5-9 and shows us that Paul does not condone slavery but gives us guidelines on how to live as servants. Servants of God and the people around us.

    You are Family
    Series: Who Are You?
Our earthly relationships are important. They provide comfort, support, strength, and protection. But these relationships can sometimes fade and disappear. We strongly believe that God did not create us to be alone. We are created in His image and therefore with a longing to be in relationship with others. To be in a family. In Eph 6:1-4 Paul shows us how we are to live as children and parents in a family but not just in a biological family but as a church family.

    You are an Imitator.
    Series: Who Are You?
All of us have grown up looking up to someone. Wanting to be like them. Whether it was a celebrity, an athlete, or a friend or neighbor. Often a parent. This desire to imitate others is a good desire, because it is a God given desire. The problem comes when we imitate the wrong thing. As children of God we are to imitate Jesus. Cody walks us through Eph 5:1-17 where we see 3 characteristics of an imitator of God.

    You are Made New.
    Series: Who Are You?
As God saves us He makes us more like Jesus. This requires change. Like changing clothes, the Holy Spirit begins to remove layers of our old self revealing a new life that looks like Jesus and reflects His nature and character. Are you living in the new life or are you still living the old life you lived before Jesus? This is the question Daniel asks as he walks us through Eph 4:17-32.
